Brotherhood Ministry

“Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.”

–   Proverbs 27:17 KJV

The Brotherhood Ministry of the Pentecostal Church of God seeks to advance a Church without Borders in which Brothers validate the love of God, emit the light of Christ, and demonstrate the power of the Holy Ghost. This ministry encompasses service to a homeless shelter for men, academic support for K-12 and college students, visits to the sick and the shut-in, track ministry, community health fairs for men, annual participation at the Hampton’s Ministers’ Conference, monthly Brotherhood meetings, and a host of activities to connect and engage one another (bowling, cookouts, etc.). The Brotherhood Ministry truly embodies the Pentecostal Church of God’s mantra of “Come to Worship and Go forth to Serve”.

Domestic and Foreign Missions

“For I was an hungered, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came to me”

– Matthew 25:35-36 KJV

The Domestic and Foreign Mission ministry expresses the love of God to the needy locally and abroad. Donations of school supplies, food, clothing and monetary gifts are sent to countries in the Caribbean. Locally, Pentecostal Church of God (PCOG) assists the homeless through support of the Bowery Mission. To accomplish this mission, free-will gifts are donated from PCOG members.

To contribute to the Domestic and Foreign Ministry, please visit our Giving page where your donation will be recorded and allocated to the efforts of supporting communities in need. A tax-exempt correspondence will be sent subsequently.

Hospitality Ministry

“Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.”

– Hebrews 13:2 KJV

The mission of the Hospitality ministry is to provide a welcoming environment of love, acceptance, comfort, support, care, and unity for visitors, members, guests and friends in order to enhance their worship experience, encourage fellowship, and help build a community of believers. The Hospitality ministry serves to decrease the amount of stress, anxiety, fear, and confusion for visitors, and lets them know there is support and resources available. This ministry also seeks to encourage a smooth transition from being a visitor to becoming a member.

Hostess Ministry

“Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!”

– Psalm 133:1 KJV

It is the Pentecostal Church of God’s mission to feed and nourish the soul by the preaching of the Gospel and through community outreach. The Hostess committee helps to provide an atmosphere where members and guests can dine and fellowship with each other after being spiritually fed. Meals and refreshments are also served at community outreach events. The Hostess committee provides support to all ministries as needed, shows forth God’s love by serving others, and follows the vision of the church.

Millennial Ministry

“But the Lord said unto me, Say not, I am a child: for thou shalt go to all that I shall send thee, and whatsoever I command thee thou shalt speak.”

– Jeremiah 1:7 KJV

The vision of the Millennial Ministry is integrating the millennial/young adult generation into the Body of Christ. Our mission is building a community for Millennial Christians to navigate through a challenging world with the love of the Lord. Meetings are held monthly on a variety of topics ranging from mental health issues in the Black Christian community to social justice. In September 2020, the Millennial Ministry had the opportunity to participate in the International BibleWay Voter Registration Initiative. This ministry aims to do more to overcome these difficult times.

Missionary Ministry

“Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the laborers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth laborers into his harvest.”

– Luke 10:2 KJV

This ministry proclaims the Gospel of Jesus Christ in the community and compels sinners in accordance with the teaching of the church and the Great Commission of Jesus. We edify the congregation by praying for and visiting the sick and homebound senior members of our fellowship. We bring to each person both spiritual and physical food to comfort, inspire, and illuminate their minds through the power of the Holy Spirit.

Music Ministry

“Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands.”

– Psalm 100:1 KJV

The mission of the Music Ministry is to please God through praise and worship. The aim is to enrich the service and edify members by facilitating the attention on God and his wondrous works through music and song. It is the desire and main objective to prepare non-born-again hearts so that the Holy Spirit may minister.

The Music Ministry supports the body of Christ by enabling those willing and able to commit their talents to God through voice or instrument. We facilitate the learning and development of children by spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ through song. Lastly, we assist in all internal and external special services as they minister in a variety of ways.

New Creation Ministry

“As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby.”

– 1 Peter 2:2 KJV

The New Creation Ministry is dedicated to assisting new believers of our church to become acclimated to their new life in Christ Jesus. We begin by presenting an overview of who we are and what we believe. During this orientation process new believers will be expected to participate in an orientation class where they can share information about themselves and asked questions pertaining to their expectation of the church in general. This is also a time for everyone to get to know each other and feel comfortable about the decision they have made. This class has been structured to help a new member through an eight-week orientation. An orientation booklet has been prepared and the facilitators will go through the booklet with the class outlining each section. We welcome new believers into the family and we want them to know that they are never alone. As they grow in Christ we are here to extend a hand of love to help them on their new journey with the Lord.

Usher Ministry

“For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.”

– Psalm 84:10 KJV

The mission of the Usher ministry is to serve as doorkeepers in the house of the Lord, united in one love, one body, striving to do God’s work. We accommodate every worshipper who enters the church with a seat in the most pleasant and efficient manner possible. We do this by providing a safe, courteous, and friendly place to worship so there can be order within a flexible and welcoming atmosphere and be attentive to the needs of the congregation. The purpose of ushering in the church is to serve God; creating an atmosphere of reverence and order which is maintained before, during and after the service.

Vessels of Honor Women’s Ministry

“Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.”

– Ephesians 6:10 KJV

The Vessels of Honor are the Women of God at Pentecostal Church of God, Brooklyn. Based on the scripture Ephesians 6:10-20, our purpose is to be equipped and fully armed as we serve God through this ministry within our community. We aim to enrich the lives of other women and their families by incorporating Prayer with the study of the Bible. We are striving to lead women to accept Christ as Lord and Savior and enable women to discover/seek out her God-given gifts and talents to be used in the ministry of the church and community at large.
